Hey! Hi! How’s it going?
Those words were usually the beginning of something funny but not today. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend and OG Meow Crew member Abby. Most of our readers will also know her handle on X was @stillmeowing where she had been involved with the TransWidows community, a strong member of the Gender Critical movement, as well as more recently interacting in the detransitioner community, and perhaps some of you may have even been friends with her through the gaming community, particularly WoW.
We had only recently learned that Abby had been hospitalized with an aggressive form of cancer. Now barely 21 days later we are having to say goodbye. Abby was a beloved and familiar presence here on MeowMix with her weekly broadcasts and keen observations. In the end she was surrounded by those closest to her IRL and we, her online friends have been with her in spirit until the end. Her loss is felt deeply by all that knew her.
She lived her life to the fullest and always had an experience to share whether to make you laugh or to commiserate with you in tears. Abby began everything with love and kindness, extending her hand to those that needed it and even those that didn’t deserve it. She always tried to find the good in people but wasn’t always successful. She had a strong sense of Faith and Prayed for everyone equally.
In the end she passed as she lived, she was small but mighty, a fighter to the end. She exuded kindness and love and we hope to carry that with us as well. Abby meant different things to different people but I know we would all agree that her joy, her unique sense of humour, and her kind heart are what we will miss the most. Our thoughts and Prayers are with her family.
She will be dearly missed.
